Each item in the LISInfo database is either an event, organization, person, or publication. The types of events, organizations, people, and publications are defined below.
Descriptors can be applied to each of these items. The descriptor categories are date, location, and subject. Each item can have multiple dates, locations, and subjects.
We intend for this specification to conform to ANSI/NISO Z39.19: 2005 Guidelines for the Construction, Format, and Management of Monolingual Controlled Vocabularies (PDF). Please let us know if anything in this document does not conform the guidelines.
